Saturday’s feature race meeting around the country will be at Doomben in which we see the only Group 1 for the day being the Doomben Cup which has attracted a good field this year.
Weather has been kind to Queensland this week and we should see a much better track condition as opposed to last weekend which there was torrential rain which deteriorated the track giving all runners a fair chance.

Back Me: Chosen Idol won well at his first start before meeting what looks to be a very talented galloper in Zouster at his second start. Easier race here and looks the top chance.
Don’t Back Me: Architect is the most experienced runner in the race which suggests he doesn’t have much improvement left in him.
Big Danger: Sir Moments has started twice in very good races, finds an easier race on Saturday and looks the biggest danger in the race.
Roughie:Skytastic flew home on debut to win well. Was disappointing at his second start but should be suited better in this race.

Race Two: Cellarbrations Lancaster Stks 1200m Form Guide
Back Me: Missy Longstocking probably should have won last start but was held up during the run. Flew home late and she finds an easier field here and is the one to beat.
Don’t Back Me: Mesmereyeser is coming out of an okay Warwick Farm race but finds a tough race here and looks way under the odds.
Big Danger: Vienna Queen sat wide in a good race last start and wasn’t beaten far. Should get a good run from barrier four and looks the biggest danger.
Roughie: Navelina won well last start in a good race. Will get back in the run and will be the horse that can run over the top of them late.

Race Three: Channel Seven Hcp 1110m Form Guide
Back Me: Liesele drops in weight and finds a very winnable race on Saturday. She loves the distance and has a good record at the track and should be winning this race.
Don’t Back Me: Pure Purrfection has run second her last two starts but i think there are a couple of runners better suited in this race.
Big Danger: Funtantes drops in grade here but goes up in weight and has a wide barrier to overcome. will go forward and take beating.
Roughie: Fanciful was posted wide for the trip last start and wasn;t beaten far. Should get a better run from barrier 7 and should give a good site at odds.

Race Four: Carlton Mid Lord Mayor’s Cup 1600m Form Guide
Back Me: Solzhenitsyn ran very well last start in a much tougher race. Finds a winnable race here and isn’t too badly weighted when you look at his class. Likely to go back and will be finishing over the top of them at a track that he loves.
Don’t Back Me: Epic has won his last three but this is a much tougher task and he is poorly weighted against some Group performing runners.
Big Danger: Transporter looks the only danger to the on top selection after a very good run last start but i feel Solzhenitsyn has him for class.
Roughie: Shamardashing will jump at big odds but he loves the Doomben track and should put in a better run than of late on Saturday.

Race Five: Hidden Dragon The Roses 2000m Form Guide
Back Me: Dear Demi is the class runner of the race and has been contesting some of the best fillies and mares races in the country. Weighted well against the competition and can be backed each way.
Don’t Back Me: Soapy Star will likely go forward in the race and make her own luck although im not convinced she can stay the trip.
Big Danger: Kazanluk should have won at Morphettville last start but didn’t have any luck. Will go back in the race and will be finishing well at double figure odds.
Roughie: Dolphus is still a maiden but has been contesting some very good races. Her run last start had a lot of merit and with an easier run should be in the finish at odds.

Race Six: Fred Best Classic 1350m Form Guide
Back Me: Sizzling warmed up late last start which looks the form race heading into the Fred Best Classic and he will be much better suited by the longer straight at Doomben. Weighted well and will be very hard to beat.
Don’t Back Me: Academus beat a few of these last start but looked much better suited in that race. Hasn’t won second up and the longer straight will suit others better.
Big Danger: Peron seems to be a forgotten runner in the race, he steps up in class but has won four from five and gets weighted well and jumps from a good barrier.
Roughie: Saluter wasn’t disgraced first up and always runs better second up. Looks to be at great odds for the race were he looks a good winning chance.

Race Seven: Doomben Cup 2000m Form Guide
Back Me: Foreteller sat wide and still was able to hit the line strongly to just miss in the Hollindale Stakes. Has drawn better and will be able to settle throughout the run and with the longer straight have more time to wind up.
Don’t Back Me: Lights Of Heaven sat just off them in the Hollindale Stakes before hitting the lead in the final stages. With the longer Doomben straight i think she will find it hard to hold off those running from the back
Big Danger: Hippopus who is the only 3yo in the race won super impressively at Flemington last start and we know how much better this years 3yo’s are compared to the older horses.
Roughie: Zabeelionaire had his first run back since the Melbourne Cup last start and showed he is sound. Will be looking for further but will be finishing the race off well at $51.

Back Me: See The World was super last start at Randwick when hitting the line really well. Should enjoy the Doomben track go back and be running over the top of them.
Don’t Back Me: Ready To Rip will have to overcome a step up in weights as well as barrier 18 if he is to win. Has had two starts over the distance for no wins.
Big Danger: Fire Up Fifi was unlucky not to have won last start but finds this race in similar conditions. If she can get some luck she will go close.
Roughie: Phelan Ready just can’t seem to win a race. Ran on well last start and finds a winnable race here and looks a decent each way chance.

Best Bet: Solzhenitsyn is suited very well in this race. Finds an easier field and isn’t weighted badly when comparing his class to the other runners.
Next Best: Foreteller hit the line the strongest in the Hollindale Stakes and showed he will benefit from a longer straight. Will take a lot of beating in the Doomben Cup.
Best Roughie: See The World ran very well last start at Randwick and finds perhaps an easier field here in which she is weighted well and will be hitting the line well at double figure odds on a day that there isn’t much value on offer.
