The Hawkes Racing-trained Messene continues to ease at Sportingbet.com.au for Saturday’s Doncaster Mile on day one of The Championships at Royal Randwick.
The last start Ajax Stakes winner has drifted from $4.20 out to $5 at Sportingbet.com.au since being dealt gate 18 at Tuesday’s barrier draw for the feature Group 1 event.
The Chris Waller-trained Weary has emerged as the punters’ pick, firming from $7 into $6 atSportingbet.com.au.

“Messene has been flying this preparation but the carpark draw combined with zero experience on rain-affected ground has punters running scared,” Sportingbet.com.au’s Andrew Brown said.
“The money suggests Messene and Weary will be a lot closer in betting come race time and it wouldn’t surprise me if Weary starts favourite.”
Another Waller runner, Hawkspur, has firmed from $12 into $9 at Sportingbet.com.au and Dear Demi has been specked at odds and is $41 into $26.
Mouro’s odds have been sliced from $101 into $61 after a number of significant bets, including one of $1000 eachway at the $101.
