Damien Oliver chances of a record-equalling fifth Caulfield Cup have been strengthened by barrier three for his mount Snow Sky.
The winner of the Hardwicke Stakes at Royal Ascot, the Sir Michael Stoute-trained Snow Sky firmed from $15 to $11 after the draw.
The late Scobie Breasley holds the record of five Caulfield Cups while Oliver’s most recent win came in 1999 on Sky Heights.
New Zealander Mongolian Khan remains the $4.20 favourite to add the Cup to his New Zealand and Australian Derby wins from last season.
Craig Williams will be chasing his third Caulfield Cup win and has the ride on Japanese horse Hokko Brave who has drawn barrier 19.
Williams won on Southern Speed in 2011 and steered Dunaden to win from the outside gate a year later.
