Boom Irish stayer Dandino has firmed from $23 into $8 second favouritism at Sportingbet for the 2013 Melbourne Cup following his impressive 2nd behind Fawkner in today’s Caulfield Cup.
Dandino replaces the Chris Waller trained Hawkspur as second favourite after his odds drifted from $7.50 to $9 at Sportingbet. Fiorente remains a $6 favourite for the Melbourne Cup.
“That was a cracking run from Dandino and on that run connections will have plenty of confidence that he can run the 2 miles. We expect the punters will be lining up to back him for the Cup after that performance,” Sportingbet’s Andrew Brown said.
