Two major ballot exemptions are up for grabs at today’s Flemington meeting.
Up first is arguably one of the biggest exemptions you can receive in Australia with the winner of The Bart Cummings gaining a spot in the 24 horse Melbourne Cup Field.
With this it is no surprise that the two runners who head The Bart Cummings market are owned by Lloyd Williams, he saddles up Almandin ($2.70) and Aloft ($4.60) who have both been heavily backed.
The second of the major exemptions is a spot in the Caulfield Cup field for the winner of the G1 Turnbull Stakes later on in the card. Hartnell heads the betting as the odds on favourite in the race.
