Craig Williams has been unsuccessful in overturning his appeal against a 12-meeting suspension for careless riding in the Caulfield Cup.
The champion jockey also failed to have the suspension reduced, having asked the Racing Appeals and Disciplinary Board to reduce it to 8 meetings.
He will now miss 2016 Cox Plate day where he has booked a ride on board Hauraki.
The 12-meeting suspension means Williams can resume racing on Bendigo Cup day.
Dwayne Dunn will now take the ride of Hauraki in the Cox Plate.
