Cox Plate Day is one of the biggest events on the Australian sporting calendar, and the highlight event for Moonee Valley Racecourse each year.  Cox Plate Day is being held on the 26th of October in 2013, with a full day of racing complemented by fashion, entertainment, and dining attractions.  With gates open from 10.30am and the last race run at 5.40pm, Melbourne is set for one of its biggest days of the year.

There are a total of 10 races held on the day, with the WS Cox Plate the centre attraction and final event.  While the Cox Plate is the only Group 1 event of the day, the Drake International Cup, Schweppes Crystal Mile, and Mitchelton Wines Vase are all Group 2 races, with two Group 3 races also held earlier in the day to complement the main race.

Along with all the racing action, racegoers can also look forward to a great day of fashion and entertainment, including David Jones Fashions on the Field.  There will be four fashion categories showcased on the day, including Head Turning Hats, Mens’ Signature Style, Ladies’ Classic and Young Contemporary. The famous David Jones Ladies Fashion Luncheon will also feature the very latest fashion and millinery from David Jones on the Wednesday prior to race day.

Like always at Moonee Valley Racecourse, there will also be a full complement of dining options available for members and guests to enjoy, with dining packages available to purchase and a number of bars in operation throughout the day.  General admission for 2013 Cox Plate Day is $55, with concession tickets $35 and children’s over 12 just $15.
