Coolmore Legacy Stakes Tips, Field Preview and Selections – 2020

The $500,000 Coolmore Legacy Stakes for the fillies and mares over 1600m is one of four Group 1 races on Day Two of 2020 The Championships at Randwick on Saturday.

A large field of seventeen fillies and mares are set to line up over the famous Randwick Mile with last Saturday’s Group 1 Doncaster Mile winner Nettoyer set to back up this week.

Nettoyer produced a last to first finishing burst and arrived at the nice odds of $41 to win the Doncaster Mile but won’t be at double figures this week and has been installed as the second pick at $9.50.

The only filly in the race, the Chris Waller trained Funstar, dominates the Coolmore Legacy Stakes betting at $2.70.

We have analysed the entire field and our complete 2020 Coolmore Legacy Stakes tips can be found below!

Alizee

Alizee kicked off her 2020 Autumn Carnival campaign in fine style with a second up win in the Group 2 Apollo Stakes (1400m) at Randwick on February 15 but has missed a place at her next two starts. Her latest effort was a fifth in the Group 1 George Ryder Stakes (1500m) at Rosehill on March 21. The James Cummings trained Alizee was the winner of the Coolmore Legacy Stakes two years ago and a second win this year in the Group 1 for the Fillies and Mares would not surprise.

Nettoyer

Nettoyer was the Queen of Randwick last Saturday after she produced a stunning last to first win in the Group 1 Doncaster Mile over the same distance as the Coolmore Legacy Stakes. Nottoyer was one one of the outsiders of the field in the Doncaster Mile at $41 but she is the second pick in the betting at Ladbrokes.com.au for the Coolmore Legacy Stakes and  a second Group 1 win in the week would not surprise.

Con Te Partiro

Con Te Partiro is also backing up week to week after finishing sixth in the Group 1 Doncaster Mile at Randwick last Saturday. The Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott trained mare has claims back against the fillies and mares after winning Group 1 Coolmore Classic over 1500m at Rosehill on March 14.

Miss Siska

Miss Siska was racing in top form in Melbourne with back to back wins at Caulfield in the Group 3 TS Carlyon Cup (1600m) and in the Group 2 Peter Young Stakes (1800m). Miss Siska is coming off a well beaten eighth in the Group 1 Australian Cup (2000m) at Flemington but expect a bold showing back against the Fillies and Mares in the Coolmore Legacy Stakes. Has each way claims.

Sweet Deal

Sweet Deal was a beaten favourite last start when fifth in the Group 2 Emancipation Stakes (1500m) at Rosehill on March 28. Her form before that was solid and it wouldn’t surprise to see her fighting out the finish.

Invincible Gem

Invincible Gem has been struggling to find her best form of late and looks tested here on her last start eighth in the Group 2 Emancipation Stakes (1500m) at Rosehill.

Danzdanzdance

Danzdanzdance is another struggling to find her best form and looks safely held on her last start sixth in the Group 1 Ranvet Stakes (2000m) at Rosehill on March 21.

Noire

Noire hasn’t been far off the mark and is definitely one of the major players in the Coolmore Legacy Stakes. Two starts back Noire finished third in the Group 1 Coolmore Classic (1500m) at Rosehill on March 14 followed by a second in the Emancipation Stakes at Rosehill a fortnight later.

Positive Peace

Positive Peace has worked her way up through the grades and deserves her chance in the Group 1 Coolmore Legacy after making it five wins in a row with her victory in the Group 2 Emancipation Stakes (1500m) at Rosehill on March 28. An improving mare who can’t be discarded.

Unforgotten

Unforgotten is struggling to find her old winning form and looks tested on her latest eleventh in the Group 2 Emancipation Stakes (1500m) at Rosehill.

Miss Fabulass

Place chances look best for Miss Fabulass coming off a last start fourth in the Group 2 Emancipation Stakes (1500m) at Rosehill.

Spanish Reef

Spanish Reef wasn’t that far away last start when fourth in the Group 2 Sunline Stakes (1600m) at The Valley on March 20 but will find this much tougher.

Amangiri

Amangiri performed well first up with a third in the Group 2 Emancipation Stakes (1500m) at Rosehill but is taking another step up in grade here.

Pohutukawa

Pohutukawa has been struggling of late and looks tested here on her last start ninth in the Group 2 Emancipation Stakes (1500m) at Rosehill.

Delectation Girl

Delectation Girl is not ging to bother these on her latest sixth in the Group 2 Emancipation Stakes (1500m) at Rosehill.

Fidelia

Fidelia is listed as one of the outsiders of the field and is coming off a last start third in the Group 2 Sunline Stakes (1600m) at The Valley on March 20.

Funstar

The Chris Waller trained Funstar is the only three year old filly in the Coolmore Legacy Stakes and has been installed as the short priced favourite at Ladbrokes.com.au following her good Autunm Carnival form against her own age. Funstar scored a comprehensive win in the Group 2 Phar Lap Stakes (1500m) at Rosehill two starts back but was then beaten as favourite when fourth in the Group 1 Vinery Stud Stakes (2000m) at Rosehill. Dropping back to the 1600m will suit her and she is one of the main chances.
