Coffs Harbour Cup 2016: Long shots odds shorten to win

Single Spirit, a veteran from Taree, who has placed in the 2013 and 2014 editions of the Coffs Harbour Cup, has been best backed with Sportsbet.com.au to finally take the Cup back to his trophy cabinet this Friday on Coffs Harbour Cup Day.

Trained by Ross Stitt, the seven year old comes here off the back of a solid fourth in the Muswellbrook Cup a fortnight back behind Dylan’s Rojo ($6). He gets a 2.5kg weight swing on that horse and has a wonderful record at Coffs Harbour, so the $15 opening price seemed overs and the punters agreed, trimming him up to $8.00.

Dylan’s Rojo is at the top of the betting at the $6 mark, alongside La Spiaggia, who is out from $5.50. The other notable firmer is the Bruce Hill trained Bodega Negra, who is into $7.50 after opening $11 and getting out to $13. Binalong Road and Sofn are rock solid at $8 and $7.50 respectively in a wide open contest.
