The Pride-trained Craftiness runs in Saturday’s Listed City Tattersalls Lightning (1100m) at Randwick while Moir Stakes runner-up Ball Of Muscle heads to Melbourne for the Group Two Caulfield Sprint (1000m) in Melbourne.

But the prospect of firm tracks in both Sydney and Melbourne means Ball Of Muscle’s elder Group One-winning brother Tiger Tees will stay at home.

The Warwick Farm trainer has not had many early two-year-olds in the past but in Reverence he believes he has a colt on his hands who fits the bill and is ready to make an impression in the Victory Vein Plate (1000m) at Randwick.

“The intention is to run Craftiness in Sydney and Ball Of Muscle in Melbourne,” Pride said.

“Tiger Tees will stay at home and we’ll keep him ticking over while we wait for a softer track.

“Reverence is up and running and doing everything asked of him early so I am looking forward to his debut.

“He is a home-bred for Paul Fudge’s Waratah Thoroughbreds and has done well in his two trials.”

Reverence is by American stallion Congrats out of Bonifacio, a Listed winner over 1006m at Del Mars.

He was one of eight youngsters entered in the Victory Vein on Monday, two of which have already been to the races.

The Clarry Conners-trained Bliss Point finished 10th in the Gimcrack Stakes on October 3 after coming out of the barriers awkwardly.

Country-trained filly Miss Amajardan fared better on her debut when she was a decisive winner at Armidale on September 29.

Her Port Macquarie trainer Jenny Graham also has the option of a 1110m-race for two-year-old fillies at Doomben on Saturday.
