In form trainer Chris Waller starts his Queensland winter carnival assault at the Gold Coast on Saturday.
Online bookmaker sportsbet has Foreteller ($4.50) on the third line of Hollindale Stakes betting behind $2.70 favourite Lights Of Heaven and Solzhenitsyn ($4.00). Waller also has Danleigh ($13) and Stout Hearted ($17) in the race.
“Waller took all before him during the Sydney autumn and it looks like he is going to be a force again in Brisbane. Foreteller will have his work cut out to beat the Peter Moody trained Lights Of Heaven, but anything Waller saddles has to be respected,” sportsbet.com.au’s Ben Hawes said.
“So far, Foreteller and Danleigh have attracted the most punter support and it’s head and shoulders above any others so the Waller factor is front and centre in punters minds.”
Markets are up for all the major races at the big Gold Coast meeting, which marks the return of Stradbroke hope Sizzling, a $3.30 favourite for the Guineas.
In Adelaide, Shoreham is an easing $3.70 favourite for the South Australian Derby. Hvasstan ($4.80 into $4.00) has been well backed unlike Hioctdane, who’s drifted from $3.80 out to $4.40.
Sportsbet.com.au will refund punters their bet on the SA Derby if their selection runs second in the race.
