Damien Oliver has lost his bid to ride defending champion Almandin in the Melbourne Cup.
Oliver appealed an improper riding suspension after being outed for shifting in on Happy Clapper in Saturday’s Cox Plate, causing interference to Dean Yendall on Royal Symphony.
The Racing Appeals and Disciplinary Board on Monday dismissed the appeal and upheld the 20-meeting suspension which expires on November 16.
