Silent Achiever will jump from barrier five, while Royal Descent will start from gate three.

Royal Descent is second in betting having firmed from $7 into $6, while Silent Achiever has shortened from $8.50 into $7.

Royal Descent

“Silent Achiever and Royal Descent were the big winners from the barrier draw for the Caulfield Cup,” Betstar’s Alan Eskander said.

“Drawing barriers five and three respectively they will be able to position themselves in the first half of the field with a great run in transit and as a result we’ve seen both of them shorten in the market.”

Caulfield Cup favourite Hawkspur has drifted slightly from $4.60 out to $4.80 after drawing wide in barrier 16.

“Hawkspur has drawn barrier 16 and that probably won’t hinder him too much, as one would presume he will go back in the field anyway. With speed drawn both inside and out, the early speed in the race should suit this galloper. In turn, he has only been a slight drifter from $4.60 out to $4.80.”

Meanwhile Dandino has also moved out to $8 from $7.50 after drawing gate 19.

“Craig Williams will be made to work on Dandino, a horse that traditionally races towards the speed in his races. From barrier 19 he will face a big task to get some cover in the race, and as a result he has drifted from $7.50 out to $8.”
