Capitalist weighs up 2016 Coolmore Stud Stakes or Darley Classic

Golden Slipper winner Capitalist has worked sharply up the straight course at Flemington but a decision on which Group One sprint he contests is yet to be confirmed.

Co-trainer Peter Snowden said they will weigh up whether to start the colt in Saturday’s Coolmore Stud Stakes or wait for the Darley Classic against older horses at weight-for-age a week later.

Capitalist was scratched from Friday night’s Manikato Stakes because of a rain-affected track, Snowden insisting the sprinter is at his best on dry ground.
