Eagle Farm will host Queenslands premier Saturday meeting on BTC Cup day which has attracted a fantastic field this year with the day also boasting three other Group races including the Group 2 Champagne Classic.

There are a few showers around Eagle Farm but nothing too serious and it’s likely the meeting will be run on a dead track.

Race One: Ascend Sales Brc Dash 1000m Form Guide

Back Me: Griffon is a lightly raced galloper who is very good fresh which he will be on Saturday. Has a good record over the distance and track and should kick us off with a winner in the first.
Don’t Back Me: I’m Cool was disappointing last start although had a few excuses. Peaked on his run i thought and against a tougher field i think he might struggle.
Big Danger: Halle Rocks is a Victorian galloper who ran well first up when hitting the line strong. Should come on from that run and if she handles the track will go close.
Roughie:Gundy Son is a very honest galloper and although he doesn’t have some of the upside of the lighter raced runners in the race you know you will get your monies worth when backing him at $16.

Race Two: Bollinger Champagne Classic 1200m Form Guide

Back Me: Global Dream’s run in the Magic Millions Classic was very good. She is having her first run back since then and should have improved over the break and at $12 looks excellent value.
Don’t Back Me: Into The Red will be having his first run in the race and i think at the odds he is a risk in what looks to be a very good field.
Big Danger: Hooked was super impressive last start were he showed he was just too good. Meets a tougher field here but will be hard to beat.
Roughie: She’s A Danica’s run last start i thought had a lot of merit and i wouldn’t have expected her opening at $41 in her next start which she has here.

Race Three: Alliance Airlines Hcp 1400m Form Guide

Back Me: Cuddlesome was very gallant in defeat last start after a tough run has a perfect record over the distance and if she can get some luck from the barrier will be right in the finish.
Don’t Back Me: Alcancia ran on well last start over the same distance although against a tougher field i think she will be outclassed and Chris Munce has chosen to rude Cuddlesome which could be a good indicator.
Big Danger: Hidden Kisses hit the line really strongly last start when she was first up. Should improve from the run and is the main runner to beat in the race.
Roughie: Stolen Kisses is a lightly raced galloper who was around the mark in some good races last preparation. Returned with a good win this prep and should be able to go on with it on Saturday at long odds.

Race Four: Channel Seven (bm85) 1600m Form Guide

Back Me: Dusty Gold has had two starts over the track and distance for two wins. Weighted well in the race and will get a strong rider (Colless) on his back which will help and can be backed each way.
Don’t Back Me: Less Is More was okay in a tougher race last start but goes up sharply in weight and has to overcome barrier 14 which i doubt he can do.
Big Danger: Waterford will be having her first run in Australia in the race and the market shows she is right in the race. If she lives up to her promise she will be hard to beat.
Roughie: Vacallo steps up in class but he is a very honest galloper and off the back of two second placings is ready to win.

Race Five: Mittys Rough Habit Plate 2100m Form Guide

Back Me: Survived has won his last four starts in New Zealand including a win over second favourite Usainity two starts ago. Was super impressive last start and if he can bring that form here he should be winning.
Don’t Back Me: Honorius is yet to win a race in close to a year and had his chance to beat Usainity last start but couldn’t. Has drawn barrier 17 which wont do him any favours.
Big Danger: Usainity was very good last start and it looks like the two New Zealand runners will be fighting the race out.
Roughie: Lucky Lucky Lucky ran on well last start and it looked like the extra distance will suit him here and if he can get a good run from barrier 16 will go close.

Race Six: Landfill Chairman’s Hcp 2100m Form Guide

Back Me: Sysmo wasn’t suited in the JRA Plate and should improve on top of the ground on Saturday, finds an easier field here and should go very close.
Don’t Back Me: Margins had quite a few unlucky runners behind him last start which makes his winning margin look better than it should and looks unders in a good field here.
Big Danger: Quintessential looks the best of the New Zealand runners and despite thinking she will be better after the run she is still right in this race.
Roughie: Saint Encosta ran well at Gold Coast last start and drops 4kg in what is an easier race. I’m expecting a much better showing and the $26 looks good value.

Race Seven: B’berg Distilling Co. Btc Cup 1200m Form Guide

Back Me: Buffering couldn’t have been more impressive first up after getting no favours but still lengthening away at the finish. He makes his own luck and is the horse to beat.
Don’t Back Me: Rain Affair ran well last start although i think he had a lot of favours in that race. Can definitely win but i doubt he can put in a run like last start again.
Big Danger: Better Than Ready took forever to wind up last start but when he did he flew home late to win. There looks to be a decent amount of speed and he is the horse who can run over the top of them.
Roughie: Rarefied was super last start and has never missed a placing third up in a preparation, has a very good record over the distance and looks a danger at big odds.

Race Eight: Ticketek Plate (c6) 1200m Form Guide

Back Me: Rocker lost a tongue tie early in his last start so im putting a line through that run. He is a very talented horse and im happy to give him another chance on Saturday.
Don’t Back Me: Someday can definitely win the race i just feel he is a risk on Saturday, hasn’t won at the track and will be first up with 57.5kg and barrier 12.
Big Danger: Sookie gets into the weights exceptionally well in the race with just 52.5kg and will be tough to beat with nothing on her back.
Roughie: Heza Jetsetter will be better for the run but has a lot of quality on his side and is very well weighted. Could run into the placings at good odds.

Best Bet:  Buffering is a quality horse who is always consistant. Ran super first up and will improve from the run and will be too good for them on Saturday and will jump at very backable odds.

Next Best: Sysmo looks to have found a very winnable race on Saturday and gets in well in the weights.

Best Roughie: Global Dream meets a tough field first up but showed quality last preparation and at double figure odds is worth an each way bet.
