News:
Tony Gollan continues to rewrite the training records in Brisbane and promises there is more to come.
Gollan won his third stakes race for the summer carnival when he produced the trifecta in the Group Three George Moore Stakes at Doomben on Saturday.
Didntcostalot displayed dazzling speed to beat Gundy Spirit and Fontelina in a time of 1min8.17secs.
It was the third fastest 1200 metres run at Doomben with only Takeover Target (1:7.88) and Burdekin Blues (1:8.0) going quicker.
Gollan also became the first Brisbane trainer to provide the trifecta in a Group race.
Didntcostalot will now have a break and head to the Magic Millions Sprint on January 9 while Gundy Spirit and Fontelina are likely to tackle the Listed Lough Neagh Stakes in a fortnight.
Gollan said he had wanted to dominate the summer after an ordinary winter and spring.
“We have only just got started. Things are going well but we hope they get even better,” Gollan said.
“The important thing is I am learning all the time.”
Gollan set a training record of 79 Brisbane metropolitan winners in 2014/15 and is well on target to eclipse that with 37 winners already just four months into the new season.
