Racing Victoria’s veterinarians have checked all 16 two-year-olds ahead of the Group 1 Blue Diamond Stakes at Caulfield, with three failing the initial tests.
The horses, Cherish Me and Icarian Dream from Ciaron Maher’s stable and Palm Angel from Jason Warren’s yard, will undergo further inspection on Friday.
According to RV vets, the trio showed a change in their gait, which means they will be reinspected to ensure they are fit to race.
Field Of Play, the race favourite trained by Trent Busuttin and Natalie Young, was initially passed fit but will need another inspection after receiving a new set of shoes on Friday.
The other 12 horses in the race have been given the green light to compete in Victoria’s top two-year-old event at Caulfield this Saturday.
