The final Group race of the season takes place at Caulfield this Saturday with the Group 3 Bletchingly Stakes (Race 8) over 1200m attracting a strong field of 13 runners under WFA conditions.

Favourite Supido comes off a nice win in the Monash Stakes here a fortnight ago and will be looking to give gun apprentice Beau Mertens a first Group win after what has been a memorable 12 months.
Showing a decisive turn of foot, Mick Kent’s charge was able to surge past Daytona Grey and hold off the strong finish of Murt The Flirt, both of whom are also engaged here.
Drawn ideally in five, Supido has been solid in betting at around the 3.50 mark since prices were released on Wednesday afternoon and should run well again.
The race also marks the return to action of Lankan Rupee, whose career has been hampered by a string of injuries that have restricted him to just the three race appearances in over two years.
Once rated the best sprinter in the world, Mick Price has taken his time caressing the horse back to full fitness and it will be interesting to see how he performs.
Despite his trainer admitting a hunch that the horse would be better suited over a little more ground in the back-end of his race days, punters were keen to snap up the 5.00 and he has been the best backed runner with us.
Having worked through the grades superbly this preparation, Ability gets a crack at this level with trainer Robert Smerdon looking to see how far he can go with the rising four-year-old.
Hard to fault what he’s done but the horse is up 4.5kgs off his win in the Sprint Series Final and may be tested here, so our traders will be looking to take him on.

While at the prices, we felt the other Price runner Duke of Brunswick could run a bit of a race, he ran into a few dead-ends at Flemington last start and saves his best racing for soft conditions.
