Black Heart Bart is shading Malaguerra for favouritism in the C F Orr Stakes at Caulfield despite being beaten by him in the Australia Stakes.

The Darren Weir-trained Black Heart Bart, whose only defeat in four starts at Caulfield was a second to champion Winx, is at $3.40 in TAB all-in market after nominations for Saturday’s 1400m race, the first Group One event for the year.

Malaguerra, a dual Group One winner over 1200m, is at $3.80 after his win in the Australia Stakes (1200m) in which he beat Black Heart Bart by two lengths.

Black Heart Bart is one of four horses from the Weir stable entered for the C F Orr with Lucky Hussler at $7.50, Palentino $15 and Tosen Stardom ($11).

The 17 nominations feature 10 individual Group One winners including Caulfield Cup winner Jameka, Caulfield Guineas-winner Divine Prophet and Emirates Stakes winner Awesome Rock.
