Big field for G1 Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes

A capacity field of 15 plus four emergencies has been declared for the Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes which will have an international presence with last-start Dubai Group One winner Jungle Cat to make his first Australian appearance.

The Charlie Appleby-trained, Godolphin-owned, Jungle Cat is topweight with 58kg and has barrier seven for Saturday’s 1400m Group One Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes at Caulfield with James Doyle flying in to take the ride.

Australian-based Godolphin sprinters Home Of The Brave and Osborne Bulls, both trained by James Cummings, have drawn barriers 10 and eight respectively.

Last-start stakes winner Land Of Plenty has drawn 15, one outside of his Darren Weir-trained stablemate Peaceful State (14) while last year’s runner-up Mr Sneaky has also drawn wide in 17.
