Beau Geste looks unbeatable at Warwick Farm

The form lines of Beau Geste look unbeatable going into Wednesday’s Warwick Farm meet, the 2-time winner down in class and up in confidence after convincing trial form.

James Cumming’s runner was a strong winner on debut last year before a good win over Our Mantra and the speedy galloper Paret at Rosehill in September. He was a $4.80 shot going into the Group 2 Roman Consul Stakes, finishing just over 2 lengths 3rd behind stable-mate Viridine.

The 3-year-old by Street Cry has been far from disgraced as of late, finishing 4th in back to back runs at Flemington and Sandown including a 0.6L defeat in the Group 3 Carbine Club Stakes.

Speaking of strong form lines, Beau Geste was also 4th behind Villermont and Peaceful State in the Group 2 Sandown Guineas, the latter recently finishing runner up in the Group 1 Australian Guineas, a seemingly long way off a Wednesday meet at Warwick Farm.

The 3-year-old has once been placed at the distance, drawing barrier 9 of 14 for his first-up run. Clearly the class of the field, Beau Geste will be looking to start his prep in style with a dominant victory here and looks poised to go on to bigger and better things in 2018.
