Online bookmaker sportsbet.com.au is bracing for a wave of support for anything Joao ‘Magic Man’ Moreira rides at Flemington on Saturday after the superstar jockey rode a record eight winners at Sha Tin.
Moreira is locked in for the two Group 1’s. He is booked for $21 outsider, Tally, in the Australian Cup where Humidor commands top spot on $4.20, just ahead of Jameka ($4.50).
Flying Artie ($5.50) is in demand, but with Moreira’s booking the three-year-old could press the favourite, Spieth ($4.00), for Newmarket favouritism.
There is not a lot between them in money wagered and Supido ($15) is next most popular.
