Darren Weir has been training winners for fun at his hometown Warrnambool carnival this week.

While it’s cost us plenty of cash, we’ve enjoyed listening to the hyperbolic descriptions of the one and only Rick McIntosh!

Weir’s talented filly Kenedna has won both of her starts in Adelaide and landed the Aurora in decisive fashion following a peach of a ride from John Allen.

That race is often a good pointer towards the Oaks and we can’t really see how anything she beat that day has the ability to turn the tables.

That leaves Egg Tart, a filly from the Chris Waller yard who has been flying this preparation with three straight wins.

Indeed, the Kiwi master had one eye on this race with his decision to take her to Melbourne on Anzac Day and she appears to have come through that in fine order.

While she should acquit herself well, keep in mind the fact that all of her runs of late have been on heavy tracks and the surface here is currently rated a Soft 5.

Of the others, Harlow Gold has been around the mark in a plethora of major three-year-old races over the past nine months.

While Toffee Nose comes into this off the back of a strong win in the Gold Heath and is proven at the trip.
