Valuable colt All Too Hard will have to overcome a wide barrier if he’s to win his third Group One race on the trot in Saturday’s Australian Guineas.
The star three-year-old has come up with barrier 14 for the 1600m feature at Flemington after a full field of 16 and one emergency was declared on Wednesday.
All Too Hard is striving to add the $500,000 Australian Guineas to his Caulfield Guineas triumph in the spring.
The half-brother to champion Black Caviar has been in outstanding form this campaign with back-to-back Group One wins against older horses at weight-for-age to take a stranglehold on Guineas betting.
He will come into gate 13 if the emergency Prakticality doesn’t get a start.
Last-start C S Hayes Stakes winner Sheer Talent has the job ahead from the widest barrier while the Mick Kent-trained High Shot has the rails draw.
You’re So Good is the only filly in the field and will start from barrier 10.
