Japanese horse Admire Rakti maintains favouritism at Sportingbet for Tuesday’s Emirates Melbourne Cup following the declaration of the final field and barrier draw at Flemington tonight.

Admire Rakti is a $5 favourite at Sportingbet and tops the betting ahead of Protectionist ($6.50), Lucia Valentina ($7.50) and Signoff ($7.50).
“The money for Admire Rakti has been solid ever since his Caulfield Cup victory and at this stage he’s our second worst result behind Fawkner,” Sportingbet’s Andrew Brown said.
“One punter wasn’t overly concerned which gate Admire Rakti was going to get and had $12,000 each way on him just before the commencement of the barrier draw.”
Fawkner is next in betting at $11, with Mutual Regard ($13) and Red Cadeaux ($17) the only other runners under $20.
