Woods set to miss cut at US Open

Tiger Woods will miss the cut at the US Open for just the second time in his pro career at Chambers Bay on Friday.

The struggling former world number one had a 10-over 80 in Thursday’s opener and he followed that up with a 76 on Friday.

That left him at 16-over par and with no chance of making the halfway cut and playing at the weekend.

Three of Woods’ 14 major title wins came in the US Open – in 2000, 2002 and 2008.
