Sweden’s Jonas Blixt won the US PGA Tour event in California on Sunday for his first Tour title, holing a four-foot par putt on the final hole for a one-stroke victory at CordeValle.
Blixt became third PGA Tour rookie to win this season, closing with a 3-under 68 for a 16-under 268 total.
He earned $US900,000 in the event.
Tim Petrovic and Jason Kokrak tied for second. Petrovic had a 64, and Kokrak shot a 68.
Third-round leader John Mallinger had a 72 to share fourth at 14-under with Jimmy Walker, Vijay Singh and Alexandre Rocha. Walker closed with a 62, and Singh and Rocha shot 68.
Steven Bowditch finished the best-placed Australian at 10-under in a share of 16th, while first-round leader Nick O’Hern completed his third-straight par-round to end the tournament in tie for 22nd alongside countryman Mathew Goggin at nine-under.
