AP – Brandt Snedeker confirmed he’s the form golfer of the new season with victory in the US PGA Tour’s Pebble Beach National Pro-Am.
Runner-up to Tiger Woods and then Phil Mickelson in the previous two weeks, Snedeker will climb to a career-best No.4 in the world rankings after clinching a two-stroke victory over fellow American Chris Kirk with a tournament-record 19-under-par 267 score on Sunday.
He closed with a seven-under-par 65 while Kirk shot 64.
Australia’s Jason Day shot a 67 to leap from 29th overnight to sixth and Aaron Baddeley tied for 12th after a 67, while Alastair Presnell (73) and Matt Jones (68 were tied 30th).
