P – Peter Senior added to his tally of near-misses on the Champions Tour when he stormed home to finish third in the inaugural Hawaii Championship.

Still seeking his first Champions Tour win deep in his third season in the senior ranks, Senior birdied his last four holes at Kapolei Golf Course to finish two strokes behind winner Willie Wood.

The Australian shot a closing three-under-par 69 while 51-year-old Wood birdied his last two holes for a 66 and a one stroke victory at 14-under from fellow American Bill Glasson (72) – his second win in the last three events.

It was Senior’s ninth top 10 finish from 19 starts this year, adding to his 12 top 10s last year and three as a tour “rookie” in 2010.
