The PGA Tour heads to North Carolina on Thursday (AEDT) following a drama-filled week at Augusta National.
The Harbour Town course will again play host to the time-honoured RBC Heritage, which has surprisingly drawn a competitive field featuring five of the world’s Top 10 golfers.
Justin Thomas, Collin Morikawa, Cameron Smith, Dustin Johnson, and Patrick Cantlay all headline the top of the market, but this has typically been a tournament won by roughies – as was the case last year when Stewart Cink prevailed for the third time.
Unlike Augusta, the Harbour Town course rewards those that can find the greens with accuracy, rather than distance off the tee or precision putting.
With $8 million USD up for grabs, our best bets ahead of the RBC Heritage can be found below.
RBC Heritage Best Bet
Collin Morikawa @ $13.00
Returns to Harbour Town with revenge in mind after letting things slip in the final round last year. The American sat second heading into the final day’s play, only to shoot 72 on the way to a T7 finish. Comes in boasting his usually impressive form having finished Top 10 in six from his last eight tournaments. Outright fifth last week at Augusta and also ranks 10th on TOUR in one of Harbour Town’s crucial stats: Greens in Regulation.
RBC Heritage Best Value
Shane Lowry @ $21.00
Finished in a share for third last week at Augusta and said afterwards that he’s playing some of the best golf of his life. Well deserving of a third win on TOUR and it won’t be long if he continues to find success with his putter. The Irishman is easily one of the best all-rounders going, while the fact he’s finished Top 10 twice at Harbour Town also reads well.
Si Woo Kim @ $34.00
Comes off a tough week at Augusta but is worth a flier given his form the week prior when T13 at the Texas Open. More importantly, he’s finished Top 5 in each of the last three years at the Wyndham Championship, a form line that reads exceptionally well when it comes to Harbour Town. Four players have completed the Sedgefield – Harbour Town double, and Kim came very close himself back in 2016.
RBC Heritage Best Roughie
Adam Svensson @ $176.00
The Canadian has missed the cut in his last two tournaments, so of course we’re getting a big price for him this weekend. With that in mind, the 28-year-old was playing with plenty of confidence earlier in the year, most notably finishing Top 10 at both the Sony Open and the The Honda Classic. Better yet, he’s said himself that he plays better golf when it’s windy, so the conditions should suit.
