It will be an all-Lee affair in the Australian Women’s Amateur final over 36 holes at Melbourne’s Commonwealth Golf Club.
West Australian Minjee Lee will play South Australian Jenny Lee on Sunday, Minjee making her second appearance in the national decider and looking to go one better after her narrow loss in 2011.
Jenny defeated Kiwi Julianne Alvarez in Saturday’s quarter-finals before beating Hannah Green (WA) 2 and 1 in the afternoon to advance to the final.
Minjee recorded a 3 and 2 win over Japan’s Kotone Hori before a dominant 7 and 5 win over Victorian Julienne Soo).
The men’s final will be a battle between national squad members Cameron Smith of Queensland and Commonwealth club member Geoff Drakeford.
Drakeford defeated Dylan Perry of NSW in the quarters before beating New Zealander Sam An 6 and 4 to reach the final.
Smith defeated another Kiwi, Blair Riordan, 3 and 2 the semis after accounting for Englishman Neil Raymond in the morning.
