American Stacy Lewis won the LPGA Tour’s Women’s Champions on Sunday for her sixth career title, overcoming two bogeys and some shaky putting on the back nine to hold off South Korean Na Yeon Choi.
Lewis shot a one-under-par 71 in the final round, saved by a scintillating eagle on the par-five seventh, to finish at 15-under 273, one stroke ahead of Choi, who shot 72 at Singapore’s Sentosa Golf Club.
Choi was runner-up last year as well, losing to Angela Stanford in a four-player playoff.
American Paula Creamer briefly held a share of the lead early in the day but struggled with her putting on the back nine and faded to third at 13-under.
Former winner Karrie Webb shot 69 to finish in a tie for 18th at four under.
Katherine Hull-Kirk (75) was the only other Aussie in the limited field event, finishing at seven over par and tied for 49th.
Top-ranked Yani Tseng of Taiwan endured a 74 to finish a disappointing week in a share of 28th place.
