SAINT-JEAN-DE-LU, France, Sept 25 AAP – Australian golfer Stacey Keating says she feels little pressure to repeat last year’s stellar performance and defend the Ladies Open in France starting on Thursday.

Without a victory on the Ladies European Tour (LET) this season, the 27-year-old Victorian admits her form in recent months has been scratchy.

But having come from three shots behind to win the event at Chantaco Golf Club in 2012, Keating was confident her experience at the course would put her in good stead.

“I have so many great memories here and I know the course suits me,” she said from France.

“I don’t really feel any extra pressure or anything but I like knowing I have played well on this course before.

“I would like to put myself into contention come the weekend but, as we all know, anything can happen in golf.

“I’m just really looking forward to the week starting.”

Keating, who won twice on the LET last year, sits 14th on the ISPS Handa Order of Merit after 12 tournaments.

Her best-placed finish this season was third at the New Zealand Women’s Open in February.

Only 78 players will contest the 250,000 euro ($A361,500) event, including fellow Australians Lindsey Wright, Rebecca Artis, Nikki Campbell, Nikki Garrett, Alison Whitaker, Bree Arthur, Sarah Kemp and Stephanie Na.

France’s Karine Icher, Azahara Munoz from Spain and South African Lee-Anne Pace are among other notable players in the limited field.

The Ladies Open in France is the last LET tournament in Europe, with the tour moving to Asia and the Middle East for the final four events of the season.
