P – Two late stumbles cost Karrie Webb the chance to play off for her first LPGA Tour title in two years.
Tied for the lead deep into the final round and chasing LPGA win No.38, the Australian veteran made bogeys at the 15th and 18th holes and missed the playoff for the Kia Classic title by two shots on Sunday.
Bogey-free for her first three rounds, Spain’s Beatriz Recari sank an 18-foot birdie putt from the fringe on the second hole of a sudden-death playoff with South Korea’s IK Kim to win in Carlsbad, California.
Kim had shot a one-under-par 71 to catch the 25-year-old Recari (74) at nine-under 279.
Webb, 38, carded a disappointing 74 with two birdies but four bogeys and dropped into a tie for sixth behind Thailand’s Phatlum Pornanong (68) and Americans Mo Martin (69) and Cristie Kerr (71).
