Famers Insurance Open Golf Tips, Odds and Betting – 2022 Torrey Pines South Course

The gorgeous views of the California coast will again come into focus this weekend as Torrey Pines plays host to the Famers Insurance Open starting Friday (AEDT).

Jon Rahm has been the talk all week after dominating the South Course in last year’s US Open, adding to an impressive resume at Torrey Pines that includes his first-ever PGA Tour win back in 2017.

Last year’s champion Patrick Reed is back to defend his crown, while Aussie Marc Leishman rates as one of the main chances after winning this tournament two years ago.

As if that wasn’t enough, Dustin Johnson, Brooks Koepka, and Bryson Dechambeau will take their place on the West Coast Swing, setting up what should be a thrilling weekend of golf.

As always, we’ve analysed all the numbers and our best bets for the 2022 Farmers Insurance Open can be found below!

Farmers Insurance Open Best Bet

Sam Burns @ $23.00

Rahm is a little too short for me, and I’m wary of guys like Justin Thomas and Bryson Dechambeau coming off a break.

That leaves 25-year-old youngster Sam Burns, who has played some decent golf at Torrey Pines in the past, most notably finishing T18 last year after starting hot with an opening round 66.

That form didn’t translate at the US Open where he missed the cut, but it’s been tough to fault the American ever since.

Burns finished T20 in his last nine tournaments, which includes a T18 at the TOUR Championship and a T19 at Kapalua three weeks ago at the Tournament of Champions.

Most importantly though, Burns is ranked T19 in driving accuracy, which is huge when you consider Torrey Pines is one of the longest courses on the PGA calendar.

Ranked Top 10 in Strokes Gained: Approach the Green and Tee-to-Green, he’s not far off the complete package.

Bet Now: Sam Burns

Farmers Insurance Open Best Value

Sungjae Im @ $23.00

The Korean is always consistent with the driver, and the same can be said for the way he’s playing of late.

Im bounced back from a missed cut at the Sony Open to finish tied for 11th at PGA West last week following a brilliant final round 66. He’s now finished T20 in four of his last five, and is also four-from-four here at Torrey Pines.

If he can strike a hot putter, he should be thereabouts on the final day.

Bet Now: Sungjae Im

Marc Leishman @ $34.00

You’d be insane not to have something small on Leish this week.

Not only did the Aussie win this event two years ago by a single stroke over this weekend’s favourite Jon Rahm, he also owns two runner-ups and seven Top 25’s.

On his way to a T36 finish, the worst round Leishman had at the Sony Open was a 68 on day’s two and three. Well rested, he’s overs at $34 for the second year in a row.

Bet Now: Marc Leishman

Farmers Insurance Open Best Roughie

Luke List @ $67.00

List stormed home at PGA West last week with a couple of strong final rounds to finish T22.

He didn’t play the US Open last year, but he did finish Top 10 at last year’s Farmers Insurance – the fifth time he made the cut from seven appearances.

Better yet, he’s Top 5 on Tour in Driving Distance, making him a threat on a course that tends to favour long bombers.

Bet Now: Luke List

Max Homa @ $67.00

Homa hasn’t been seen since he shared in a tie for 15 at the Sentry Tournament of Champions, another strong showing from a guy that has been playing consistently well over the last calendar year.

The hometown boy missed the cut in three consecutive appearances at this event between 2014-2017, but he’s fared much better finishing inside the Top 20 over the last two years.

Bet Now: Max Homa
