Choi protects lead at LPGA Malaysia

Karrie Webb recovered in the third round of the LPGA Malaysia, the Australian veteran shooting three-under-par 68 to climb to third place.

Joint first-round leader Webb dropped to a tie of seventh on Friday and, while she improved her position on the leader board, she remains four shots off the pace.

Defending champion Na-yeon Choi also returned a 68 to keep a two-shot lead over fellow South Korean Park Inbee who returned the day’s best score of 65.

Choi birdied the first hole but rain then halted play for more than four hours.

Choi finished with four birdies and a lone bogey on the 10th hole for a 13-under total of 200.
