Bondad clicks her heels for a 63

Struggling financially and fighting mental demons young Sydney professional Frances Bondad was on the verge of taking a spell from professional golf.

On Saturday, the smiling 24 year-old produced the round of her career, scorching home with five successive birdies in her nine under 63 to give herself an outside chance of winning the Australian Ladies Masters at Royal Pines.

She is seven shots behind impressive Korean So Yeon Ryu (20 under) heading to the final round but this time her confidence is high.

Bondad’s manager convinced her to accept a sponsor’s invite to play the Sanya Ladies Open in Hainan, China, on the European Tour in October.

She birdied the last hole of the tournament for her breakthrough win and found the confidence she spent years fighting for.

A few weeks earlier she’d been struggling to find the motivation to even get to the tee.

That was until she booked an appointment with Sydney osteopath Dr. Adam Nichols to help with some niggling injury problems.

Fortunately for her Nichols was also a holistic specialist.

“He did some neuro-emotional technique and hypno-kinesiology work on me,” Bondad sais.

“It’s hard to explain. He talked to my sub conscious through my arms to my sub-conscious mind, but I was awake all the time.

“He found out I had some symptoms of ADD, like a lack of focus and a short attention span.

“Later he found out I suffered from chronic stress and was fighting myself 24/7.”

Bondage now uses a trigger like tapping her feet together or thigh like she did on her way to her career-low round on Saturday to get her focused on the course.

Bondad’s parents are from the Philippines but she was born in the United States and raised in Australia.

Her Twitter account introduces her as “made in the Philippines, born in the US and proud to call Australia home.”

She might add “and Australian Ladies Masters champion” after Sunday if he can continue her blistering form.
