P – Australian golfer Bronson La’Cassie is headed to the US PGA Tour next season after winning the secondary Web.com Tour’s Cox Classic in a playoff.
Queenslander La’Cassie, 30, beat American Matt Bettencourt with a par on the third extra hole of sudden-death in Omaha, Nebraska on Sunday.
La’Cassie had closed with a four-under 67 to match Bettencourt (67) at 21-under 263 at Champions Run.
The win and the $US144,000 first prizemoney in the last regular event of the tour season lifted him from 33rd to sixth on the Web.com Tour money list with $US255,629 in season earnings.
The top 25 after the tournament earned US PGA Tour cards for next season which starts in October.
Before this event, University of Minnesota graduate La’Cassie had made nine cuts from 18 starts, managing two third placings among five top-25 finishes.
