Marc Leishman leads by one stroke midway through the second round of the Masters as all four Australians sit inside the top six at Augusta National.
Leishman is six under par through 12 holes to be one clear of Americans Tiger Woods (eight holes), Jim Furyk (14 holes) and Fred Couples (71) in just his second Masters.
Adam Scott (72), John Senden (10 holes) and Jason Day (seven holes) are just three off their countryman’s pace in the chase for Australia’s first green jacket.
Leishman shared the overnight lead with Spain’s Sergio Garcia after an opening round 66 and, after two early bogeys, bounced back with birdies on the seventh and eighth holes.
Scott carded three bogeys in his opening five holes before climbing back with birdies at seven, 14 and 18.
Senden birdied the second, eighth and 10th and is bogey free on his round thus far.
Day bogeyed the fourth but bounced back with birdies at five and seven.
