Australian Frances Bondad’s final round charge came up one shot short of a play-off as she tied for second in the Ladies Scottish Open.
Chasing her second Ladies European Tour victory, Bondad fired a closing five-under-par 67 at Archerfield Links to seize the clubhouse lead at three-under 213.
However Scottish teenager Carly Booth held firm with a 71 to win her maiden LET title at four-under 212.
“I’m really pleased with the way I played,” said Bondad, who hopes to get onto the US LPGA Tour this year.
“Carly is a good friend of mine, so I’m really happy for her.”
“I hit every single green apart from the last three greens today, so I think just a little bit of nerves (at the end).
It was a good tournament for the Australian contingent with four players in the top 15.
Victorian Stacey Keating carded a closing 69 to finish one shot behind Bondad in a tie for fourth, her best result on the Ladies European Tour since joining last year.
Karen Lunn, who has already tasted victory in 2012 in Europe, finished in share of 15th at two-over par with fellow Australian Sarah Kemp.
