Adam Scott favourite to win 2012 Australian Masters

Although Adam Scott is the $4.50 favourite with online bookmaker sportsbet to win the Australian Masters this week, Graeme Mcdowell has been the best backed player by punters.

Mcdowell sits on the third line of betting at $10 and has had more than three times the money bet on him than any other competitor, with Ian Poulter also given some hope at $5.50.

Stuart Appleby and Richard Green are next in the market at $15, while Stephen Dartnall has been the best backed long shot, with support coming for him at $67.

“Punters are seeing value in Mcdowell at $10, with not a lot of support yet for Adam Scott at $4.50,” said sportsbet.com.au’s Shaun Anderson.

“Stephen Dartnall is looming as a dark horse and if he continues to be backed at this rate he will start much shorter than the $67 currently on offer.”
