Windies bat after Bangladesh run record

The West Indies were 0-8 at lunch in their second innings on the fourth day of the first Test against Bangladesh in Dhaka on Friday.

Opener Chris Gayle was seven not out and Kieran Powell was on one.

Bangladesh had made 556 in their first innings, taking a slender 29-run lead over their opponents’ total of 4(dec)-527 in the first knock.

The total was the highest score by Bangladesh in their Test history.

Nasir Hossain missed his maiden hundred when dismissed for 96 after Bangladesh resumed at 6-455.

Naeem Islam had earlier scored 108.

Ravi Rampaul and spinner Sunil Narine were the pick of the West Indies’ bowlers with three wickets apiece.
