Australian vice captain Shane Watson is hopeful of proving himself fit for the second Test against South Africa in Adelaide, but he’s ruled out any possibility he might bowl.
All-rounder Watson is aiming to be selected for his run-scoring ability alone for the Test match and said he would like to think he’s one of Australia’s top six batsmen.
He batted and did some light fielding at training on Monday and will need to intensify his workload before day one on Thursday if he’s to be considered for selection.
