Adelaide’s Smith misses AFL training

Adelaide hold hopes defender Brodie Smith will play in an AFL elimination final despite missing training on Wednesday because of an ankle injury.

The All-Australian backman is likely to face a last-gasp fitness test on game day to prove his fitness for Saturday night’s MCG final against the Western Bulldogs.

“He did a bit of stuff inside today but he’s tracking really well … we will give him every chance he needs to get himself right,” Adelaide onballer Rory Sloane told reporters after training.
