The West Indies Cricket Board President’s XI are 1-58 at lunch on day one of the tour match against Australia in Barbados.
Michael Beer (1-15) has the sole wicket to fall, trapping opener Devon Smith LBW for 7 in his first over.
At the break Smith’s opening partner Kieran Powell is not out on 40 with Nkrumah Bonner unbeaten on 4.
Playing on a slow wicket at the 3Ws Oval in Bridgetown, the hosts made a cautious start, taking 12 overs to score the first boundary of the day.
Australia could have struck in the fourth over but Shane Watson dropped a simple chance off Ben Hilfenhaus at third slip when Powell was on two.
Bowling in short spells, all four of Australia’s quicks got involved with Peter Siddle (0-12) and Hilfenhaus looking the most dangerous.
