WA win toss, bat v Qld

Western Australia won the toss and chose to bat in their one-day clash with Queensland at the Gabba on Saturday.

Third-placed Queensland (4-2 record) trail leaders South Australia by six points with a game in hand and will back themselves to chip away at the Redbacks’ lead against dead-last WA (0-6).

WA have lost all-rounder Mitchell Marsh after he was called into the Australian one-day squad for their third match against India in Adelaide on Sunday.

Queensland quick Alister McDermott will still be buzzing from his remarkable 7-24 haul in the Sheffield Shield loss to WA at the Gabba on Thursday.

Dumped Australian batsman Shaun Marsh will be looking to capitalise on the promising 79 he scored for WA in the first innings of the Shield clash as he attempts to break back into the national squad for the upcoming West Indies tour.
