Queensland claimed the key wicket of Michael Hussey just before lunch on day two of their Sheffield Shield cricket clash against Western Australia at the Gabba.
Former Test batsman Hussey holed out to cover for eight off the bowling of Bulls skipper James Hopes (1-4) as the Warriors went to lunch at a precarious 3-62 in their second innings, a lead of just five runs.
The pressure will fall on WA skipper Adam Voges to fight a rearguard action against the table-topping Bulls on a green-tinged wicket providing plenty of assistance for the bowlers.
In a statement of their intentions, the Warriors took less than 10 overs to wipe their deficit of 57 runs after earlier dismissing the Bulls for 168.
WA openers Liam Davis (22 off 19 balls) and Marcus Harris (29 off 35 balls) punished any loose deliveries but their luck soon ran out, with beanpole quick Cameron Gannon and spinner Cameron Boyce claiming their wickets.
The Bulls resumed their first innings at 5-144 on Tuesday but could only add another 24 runs to their total, with Warriors quicks Nathan Coulter-Nile (3-41) and Michael Hogan (4-43) doing the damage.
WA tore through the home side’s tail after breaking a 50-run partnership between Hopes (43) and Chris Hartley (23).
