Western Australia have been set 273 runs off 75 overs to beat Queensland in their Sheffield Shield clash at the WACA.
Two sessions remain in the match as both sides chase an outright win to make next week’s Shield final.
The Bulls started the final day at 6-179 – a lead of 116 runs – but pushed on nicely in the opening session to move to 9-336 before the declaration came heading into lunch.
The Warriors got off to a good start, Joe Burns (76) caught by John Rogers in the gully off the bowling of Ryan Duffield to make the score 7-184.
Nathan Hauritz (15) was the next man to go, a superb Michael Hogan delivery snapped up at second slip by captain Adam Voges to leave the visitors struggling to mount a substantial total to defend at 8-227.
But quicks Michael Nesser (77) and Ryan Harris (54 no) combined brilliantly for a quick-fire 86-run partnership; ex-Australian bowler Harris remaining undefeated after clubbing six fours and two sixes in his electrifying knock.
