WA all out for 242 in Shield v NSW

Western Australia have closed their first innings at 242 after adding just 10 runs on the morning of day two of their Sheffield Shield clash with NSW at Blacktown International Sportspark.

Stephen O’Keefe claimed the final wicket of the innings, trapping tailender Jason Behrendorff lbw for a duck on Friday morning, leaving him with figures of 4-55.

No.11 Michael Hogan finished 10 not out.

On Thursday, John Rogers (45) and Sam Whiteman (41) helped lift the bottom-placed Warriors past 200 after O’Keefe had a big hand in restricting their top order to another disappointing start.

Michael Hussey, playing his first Shield match since retiring from international cricket after the SCG Test earlier this month, made 29 while opener Liam Davis made 39.

Trent Copeland (2-71) was the only other multiple wicket-taker.

This match is the last chance for fringe Test players to push their cases for next month’s four-Test tour of India, with Blues middle-order batsman Steve Smith considered an outside chance to cement a spot with a big innings against WA.
