Voges, Marsh put WA back in command

Western Australia internationals Adam Voges and Shaun Marsh have pulled their team out of the mire at tea on day two of their Sheffield Shield clash with Queensland at the Gabba.

The Warriors were looking shaky at 3-62 in their second innings, before Marsh (48 not out) and Voges (40 not out) steadied the ship with an unbeaten 94-run partnership to hand their team a 99-run lead going into the final session on Tuesday.

The bottom-placed Warriors headed to the tea break at 3-156 on a seam-friendly wicket under grey skies in Brisbane.

After dismissing the Bulls for 168 earlier in the day, WA took less than 10 overs to erase their 57-run deficit. But the Warriors lost openers Liam Davis (22 off 19 balls) and Marcus Harris (29 off 35 balls) in quick succession before Bulls skipper James Hopes claimed the key scalp of former Test batsman Michael Hussey, who holed out at cover for eight.
